Club News 07-06-2024
Week ending 7th June 2024
It’s been a busy week for Brixham club beginning with a coffee morning on Saturday, held at the home of one of our past members. As the weather was very kind we were able to relax in her garden and a total of £265 was raised for the charity account .
On Tuesday we held our Summer Fair on the quay where we sold homemade cakes, plants, books, and bric a brac etc. Again the weather was kind and we raised a total of £300. Liz Long who runs Lisa’s School in Kenya had a stall along side ours and raised £100 for her charity.
On Thursday 6th President Gill and several members marched from the Man and Boy statue along the harbour to the slipway with other town organisations where they laid a wreath to the fallen. The slipway was built for US Infantry who along with 32 tanks left on 4th June bound for Utah beach. The US forces also used the slipway for Exercise Tiger in April 1944.
Message from the Presidents
Hello folks and welcome to the ramblings of the Brixham Presidents.
As you are aware Chrissie and I agreed to share the office of President this year. It is the first time this has been done in our club so let’s hope it works out well.
