Cheque Presentation 2012

In March 2012 President Sheila was able to present cheques for £2,500 to each of her chosen charities. The cheques were presented at the Berry Head Hotel after members and their guests had enjoyed a delicious meal.

Soroptimist Kayaking

In July 2011 one of the first fundraising events for President Sheila's Charity was a sponsored kayak paddle around Brixham Harbour, afterwards everyone enjoyed a cream tea.

Honorary Member Frieda

At our Interclub Meeting in July 2011, President Sheila made Frieda Simmons, one of our more senior members an Honorary Member. She presented Frieda with a certificate and a framed photograph of her daughter Jane Lancaster who will be Club President in 2013-2014.Frieda Simmons presentation

Torbay Steam Fair

Every summer, usually the first weekend in August, we run the tea tent for three days at the Torbay Steam Fair. Members bake cakes and scones to sell to raise money for the President's chosen charity.

Christmas Tree Festival 2011

The local Methodist Church held a Christmas Tree Festival, local Charities were invited to decorate a tree.One of our members Susan Smith, a talented artist, created decorations made from paper from old copies of the Soroptimist News Magazines to decorate our tree.

Soroptimist at Cotehele 2011

In early December Social Secretary Chris Hunt organised a trip for members and friends to to visit the National Trust property Cotehele to see the garland for which it is famous. Whilst there we also enjoyed a delicious lunch.
